Being a Samurai, Munetaka is very loyal. Be it his family or his teammates, he will never betray them. If he makes an oath to someone, he will not fail to accomplish the conditions
History: Munetaka was the first born son of Date Masamune. His fate was already mapped out for him the moment he was born, as he would be the first of all his children to undergo the new process of creating a stronger clan. Growing up, Munetaka was showered with love by his mother, Hidemune. She was a retired ninja of Iwagakure and from a fabled clan that possessed the Steel release kekkei Genkai. With Masamune constantly organizing the samurai troops, caretakers were hired to help care for Munetaka, as well as his new born brother, Munekiyo.
By the age of three, the Date family now had four kids, Munetsuna and Shigezane being a pair of twins. Masamune was happy that his family was getting off to a good start. His knew that his family would be talked out for ages.
As soon as he was four years old, Munetaka started his training. He was trained in the art of Bushido, practicing in the family dojo everyday until nightfall. He was given chores to do in the morning, all worked out to improved his physical prowess, but not to dampen his stunt growth. As the years went on, his siblings joined in, Munetaka helping them with training and looking out for them.
At the age of seven, Munetaka was told that he would be moved to Iwagakure in order to be entered into the shinobi academy. Munetaka was a bit confused to this as he was a samurai in training, but his father told him of the legacy that they would be apart of. Wanting to not fail his father, he understood his role and accepted to be moved to Iwagakure.
Munetaka took his movement to Iwagakure in strides. Their culture was very weird compared to that in the Land of Iron. It took some getting used to, but he eventually adapted himself to it. Academy life was a bit boring, as it wasn't as vigorous as his training with his father. Most of the time, they were taught the theoretical side of the shinobi world (which, he already knew about) and hardly anything practical. He slept a lot during class, making a lot of his classmates assume he had no interest in becoming a ninja at all. Of course, this was proven wrong as he got close to top marks in the class.
At age 12, Munetaka graduated from the academy. His siblings had arrived a couple of years ago, Munekiyo just a year behind him, the twins two years. His father had visited all the way from the Land of Iron to present to him his own personal sword. Knowing what a great honor it was to have your own sword, Munetaka bowed low to his father, promising that he would make him proud and bring honor to their clan.
His genin years went by quickly, completing missions with his team and learning the importance of team work. He helped his siblings with their practical ninja training, since they already knew all about the theory side, much like him. His KG manifested during the chuunin exams, his sword changing shape into a hammer when he was trying to get past an earth defense jutsu. Masamune was surprised by this, as his wife's clan was only able to change their skin to steel.
Now a Chuunin, Munetaka was sent back home to improve himself in his KG. He was given many different teachers to learn how to wield almost every weapon imaginable. For ten years, he moved back and forth between both lands, completing missions for both the Land of Iron and Earth and helping train his siblings. Date Masamune passed away due to health issues and his brother, Tadamune, took over as clan head. Munetaka and his siblings were sad, but they knew that their father had died peaceful and had been successful in life.
At the age of twenty-five, Munetaka and his siblings made a name for themselves. On their way back to Iwagakure, they ran into some missing-nin that were attacking their fellow Iwa-nin. Two of the Iwa-nin had died in the attack and the last two were having trouble protecting their client from the mission. The Date Siblings quickly stepped in, dealing with the missing-nin with ease.
A year later, the Fourth Shinobi War was declared by "Uchiha Madara". The Date clan was placed under the Third Division except for Tadamune, who was a bodyguard for Mifune. With their KG, they were able to easily adapt from close-range to mid-range combat in a heartbeat. Their battle against Zabuza, Haku, Pakura and Gari was a battle they would never forget. Both Munetsune and Munekiyo lost their lives in that fight. Munetaka and Shigezane managed to survive the attack and make it through the battle.
During their shift to rest, Munetaka and Shigezane buried their siblings and honoring them by using their swords for the remainder of the war. The remaining Date members pushed through the war, showing no mercy to their enemies. They both survived the war and joined in the celebration of their victory over "Madara". There was much grieving after, as Tadamune was killed in the final battle, making Munetaka the new leader of the clan.
Munetaka had discussed with his brother that since they were the last of the Date Clan, one would have to go back to the Land of Iron and start on resurrecting their clan. Not wanting to be sitting around doing nothing, Munetaka ordered his brother to go back and live with his wife and stay with his family. Shigezana readily agreed, knowing that his brother hated staying in one place and missed his family greatly. When they arrived back in the Land of Iron, Mifune presented him with his fathers sword and a helmet similar to his fathers. He bowed deeply to Mifune, promising that the Date clan would continue to serve the samurai until death.
-Generations Time Skip-
Munetaka had risen in the ranks, becoming one of the elite of Iwagakure. Everyone in Earth Country and the Land of Iron know of "The Steel Edge". Shinobi and samurai alike feared him for his strength on the battlefield. There was even rumor of him becoming the next Tsuchikage. Of course, being the type of person he was and from the Land of Iron, this would never be.
Recently, with Oonoki passing away, things in Iwagakure have been getting hectic. The current Tsuchikage is working in secret, threatening to disrupt the balance of the allied nations. This did not sit well with Munetaka, as he had made friends in different villages over the past couple of years. He tried to voice his opinons on the matter, but the Tsuchikage would not listen. Munetaka's hands were now tied and had no choice but to follow his superiors orders.

Rp Sample: The place was a mess. Everything was left where it was forgotten after Munetaka had made an attempt at cooking. Halfway through cooking his eggs, they had been burned and the samurai just shrugged and put the whole pan in his sink, eggs and all. Now, with egg shell's and cooking utensils scattered about, Munetaka sat at his table, just drinking tea and eating a riceball.
Today seemed liked a good day to just lounge around and do nothing all day. It was slightly humid, which meant it would probably be a good day to get some ice candy. But right now, all he wanted to do was just sit here and eat. Munetaka reached for his cup, but he had accidently knocked over a glass of water from last night. The liquid spread across the table absorbed into a scroll.
"Hmm?"
Munetaka scratched the side of his head as he tried to read the now moist scroll. It certainly wasn't his hand writing. That was when it came to him.
They had just finished their mission and Munetaka was ready to go home. He was exhausted from the walk and just wanted to sit at home and relax.
"Alright see ya," Munetaka waved over his shoulder, but was stopped by a hand in front of his face.
"You better get this in on time, or I will find you and kick your ass" Kiyoko had said, shoving the scroll onto his hands. Munetaka vaguely remembered agreeing that he would turn in the mission report if she wrote it out.
"Alright, alright," Munetaka sighed, making his way off towards the Tsuchikage Residence.
"Oh yeah, I was supposed to turn this in," Munetaka said outloud to himself. "Oh well," he then put the scroll back to where it was and continued to eat.
