Character(s) Appearing: Gekkō Shinjirō, Ookami Hiro, Ookami Midori, Tsuki Kame Time: 2PM Previous Thread: A Change of Pace! NPC(s): N/A Summary: Team Six: Getting together for the first time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ (( OOC Note: The first post takes place at 1PM, on the same day as A Change of Pace! ))
Shinjirō sat in contemplation, strumming his fingers atop his desk. Before him lay three scraps of paper, all of them blank. After a few minutes of staring blankly at those bits of paper, he slammed his hand down on his desk in frustration. Great! Super great! I'm stuck with two spoiled rich brats, and a no-talent kid.
Letting out a big sigh, he grabbed a pen and scribbled the same sentence on all three pieces of paper: "Academy, Room 12 at 2PM today." He figured an hour would be a reasonable enough amount of time. He called up a messenger-nin, eand while waiting he folded up the slips of paper, and stuffed them into invidvidual envelopes.
Several minutes later, the was a knock on the door. Shinjirō opened it, and was surprised to see a familiar face. "Toshiro? You're on duty tonight?" In response, the messenger just gave him a perplexed stare. Shinjirō quickly realized that Toshiro wouldn't recognize him without his ANBU mask and attire. "Great, just great. Way to drop the ball," grumbled Shinjirō, quietly cursing himself.
He looked at the messenger and chuckled sheepishly, then hurriedly got to the point. "Eh, hehehehe ... so, erm, I need you to deliver — and by deliver, I mean hand it to them directly — these three letters to the new genin that I've just been appointed. Two of them are twins and life together. The other lives on the other side of town. Check her house first, but if Kame isn't at home, you might be able to find at her parent's shop. She's there quite a bit, as I understand it."
Shinjirō paused long enough to make sure the messenger-nin understood. "After you're done, report back to me, and describe what you see: I want to know how fancy — or not — their houses and surroundings are. Once you're done, you'll probably find me at the Academy Jōnin Standby Area, at least up until 1:45 PM. Try not to take too long. That is all."
After the messenger-nin left to perform his duties, Shinjirō grabbed his own supplies, and headed out.

A soft, quick rap of knuckles on wood got Midori's attention.Once she got to the door, she saw oen of the estate guards waiting for her. The shinobi bowed to her, and told her that someone was sighted at the entrance to the estate. Midori patted the shinobi's head, petting him a little and thanking him before she left to go check.
Midori walked down to the gate, greeting the estate guards as she passed them. With the recent shift in relations between the villages, they'd recently doubled the patrols, so it was no wonder that one of them had seen the messenger.
"Sorry to make you wait, sir. I'm Ookami Midori," she said, bowing her head with the self-introduction. "Is there something you need?" In answer, she was handed two of the three letters the man had in hand. Once he left, she opened them both, seeing her and Hiro's names on them.
"Our squad assignments finally arrived," Midori mumbled to herself as she inspected the letters. "Same team...? I wonder if Hiro's still sleeping in." She thought about the parties they'd had a couple days ago--he'd gotten drunk, from what she heard. "I'll go on ahead." Turning to one of the nearby guards, she handed them Hiro's letter. "Slide this under Hiro's door after a bit, please."
At 1:45 she arrived in the classroom. "Oh good," Midori said as she checked the clock, "I made it early. Now, let's see..." She did a quick check of the room, trying to check for any prank traps left for a teacher. After she disarmed what she could find, she took a rubber ball and bounced it on the floor a couple times, then threw it against a wall as hard as she could. When the ball came flying back, she dodged it and went through a few steps of counterattacking, as if it were a punch.
During the wait for someone to show up, Midori would repeat this a few times, occasionally doing a back-and-forth across the front of the classroom with Shunshin no Jutsu (body flicker).

Kame awoke to a tapping on her door. She had slept in today because it wasn't her turn to take care of the animals in the morning. She groggily looked across her small room to the door, which was now being pushed open by her mother. Her mother wasn't the only one though. There seemed to be a man with her and it wasn't her dad. She sat up immediately.
Questions were racing through her mind. Mostly just the same few. Who is this guy? Why is he here? Why did Mom let him into my room? She couldn't answer any of the questions herself. She looked to her mom, who turned to leave. Kame stared at the back of her head until she disappeared down the hall into the kitchen.
"So, what do you want?" Kame asked the man. He looked like he was scanning her room. It was covered in drawings and small knick knacks that she and other people had made for her. He handed her an envelope and then he left her as well. She looked at the envelope for a moment before tearing into it.
It was a notice that she had been placed on a team. It didn't say who she was on a team with though. It told her to meet at the academy in room 12 at 2PM. Kame was excited and pretty much forgot about how creepy it was that the guy scanned her room before then or that he had convinced her mom to let him that far into the house and then leave him alone with her daughter. She had to get ready to go. It was a little past one already and she hadn't had breakfast or gotten dressed or showered.
After she showered and had gotten dressed she put her hair up into pigtails. The ends of them dripped a bit on the wood floors but that was okay. Kame went out into the kitchen where her mom was making breakfast for her. Kame looked around her kitchen. It was decorated with little knick knacks too. Most were hung on the wall though and were small paintings. There were Kame's drawings from when she was little hung on the fridge.
She wondered if the messenger had scanned the kitchen. If he had noticed the old stove, with its nicks and stains on the top and front from Kame's first few cooking attempts gone wrong. Or if he had noticed the parts of the floor that were slightly darker than others because people had walked there more. She wondered if he noticed that the fridge didn't quite close all the way near the bottom and made the floor a little cold there or that there was an abandoned mouse hole beside the fridge. The mice had left once they started keeping a cat in the house. It was always hiding but the mice knew better than to stick around.
After eating her breakfast she decided she had better head out. She was a little early but she decided she would take her time getting to the academy. It was a long walk and could be dragged out long enough to take a fair bit of time. She made sure to stop and smell all the flowers on the way over, just in case she still had time.
When she got through the doors of the academy, she looked at the clock and noticed that it was a few minutes from the meet time. She hurried herself a little bit more and found herself in the same room as Ookami Midori. She was Hiro-kun's twin sister. Honestly Kame didn't know that much about her so she just lifted her hand in a hello motion and said, "Hi."

The Ookami estate stood in the forest immediately surrounding the walls of the village hidden in the leaves. Opposed to the typical Japanese manse, it was designed much like a Victorian estate, large, with 6 wings, and a massive courtyard in the center. The building rose to an impressive five stories. Made with brown brick, it sat against the forest fading into the trees that towered above it. The building was lined with windows. The front door was on the second story, with a staircase leading up to the door, that had a stained glass window above it, the stained glass featured a shinobi transforming into a wolf.
Surrounding the mansion, various training posts existed, some for weapons practice, others for taijustu training. The courtyard in the center of the mansion estate housed a fighting arena for sparring and contests of honor. The courtyard was square, with a door on each section of the house: north, south, east, and west. The building was covered with chalk graffiti, nothing obscene, just remnants of children playing. The bricks were also quite beaten up, the scars of countless battles, and training sessions gone awry around it.
Knowing what was to come for Hiro, the Ookami guardsman decided it'd be best to get some gear for the boy. Seeing off the messenger, he returned to the mansion, entering through the front door. Going down the stairs he entered the first floor, and then went down a floor more to the basement. It was best to pick up some weapons from the armoury for the young master, so he went to pick up weapons.
Situated in the basement was the kitchen, a staff of chefs and cooks paid to live and cook for the clan. Beside the kitchen, sat the armory. Weapons of all sizes and shapes sat in there. eastern and western swords, scythes and spears, kunai and shuriken, soldier pills and medicine, smoke and flash bombs, tags and scrolls of sealing. Everything you could imagine useful for the purposes of shinobi work. Finally beside the armory sat the forge, where an old grizzled man tireless worked metal to keep the supply of weapons fresh and plentiful.
The rooms were all unique, when someone entered Hiro’s he’d find one above average in size, which considering his position as an heir would be natural. Inside was the room of both a man growing, and a child. Messy, with clothes piled in a corner, old toys littered across part of the ground closer to the east side of the room, the walls covered with posters of famous actors and people of legend. Where the door entered on the west side of the room, one could look out onto the courtyard via a large casement window that swung out. Underneath the window sat Hiro’s bed. It was neatly made with simple sheets and a simple pillow. That side of the room was immaculate, the wall decorated with instructions for training, and life advice. This information had been relayed from the Ookami guardsman to the messenger nin. He would however not relay the bit on the genjutsu. The Ookami nin would find Hiro in the courtyard, daydreaming about the day he spent with Kame yesterday. Well, who knew being hung over could turn into such an awesome kinda-sorta date. A goofy grin was plastered on his face. A voice woke him from a his day dream, rather abruptly.
"wakasama, a message for you." A Ookami guards man said, offering Hiro the message. He looked at the man confused for a moment. He shook his head as he took the letter from the man. He quickly read it, his smile becoming wider and wider.
"Thank you keibiin-san! This is so exciting! I'm assigned to a team!!" Hiro exclaimed dropping the letter and take the weapons from him. After that he began to flicker step away. The appointed time was soon upon him, and he had to get to the academy where they would be meeting quickly. He wanted to go tell Midori where he was going, but he just didn't have the time to... little did he know.
I wonder who I'll be teamed up with. I hope they're really cool, and nice, I don't wanna not get along with my team. coursed through Hiro's head as he rushed through the town. He was going as fast as he could, warping with his flicker step to pick up the speed. Finally, he arrived at the academy. As he flickered into the room, a small wiff of smoke wirling around Hiro, he heard and saw Kame, say Hi. He smiled, as he walked towards Midori, looking at Kame, "Hello Kame-chan isn't it super awesome! It looks like we're on the same team!"
He turned to face Midori, opening his arms for a hug! "The Dynamic duo is back! The Boar killer siblings are ready for anything!" he said excitedly to Midori.

Ookami Midori was the first the enter, a full fifteen minutes early. She's early, that's good, mused the expertly hidden ninja as he watched from his vantage point. He continued to watch as she went through a series of martial drills, and was shocked by her dedication to practice. During her Body Flicker exercises, he noticed a small book jostle up and down in her right pockets, threatening to fall out. He wasn't able to get a good grasp of the title, but it did get his curiousity peaked.
Just when Midori finsihed practicing, another genin walked through the classroom door. With a glance, Shinjirō identified the newcomer as Tsuki Kame, the other kunoichi on the team. Watching her enter, he reflected on what the messenger-nin told him regarding the condition of their respective households. The Wolf Twins, as he suspected, lived on a lavish estate on the outskirts of town. By contrast, Kame lived in a small house that was in dire need of repairs and new appliances.
A rapid movement from the corner of his eyes snapped Shinjirō out of his reverie. Following quickly behind her was the final team member, Midori's twin brother Hiro. The jōnin-sensei listened to Hiro giddily exchange greetings with the young Tsuki girl. Great! The last thing I need is a student that's girl crazy, he thought as he groaned inwardly.
"Well, everyone's here, so there's no point in delaying it any further," voiced Shinjirō as he released his Transformation Technique. The podium at the front of the room disappeared with a puff of smoke, and in it's place stood the jōnin.
"Thank you for coming, on time even," he continued after the smoke cleared. "I am Gekkō Shinjirō, and I will be your instructor from here on out. To start out, please intruduce yourselves. Also, tell us about yourselves. Hobbies, favorite foods, stuff like that. If you could include why you want to be a ninja, that would be great too."
Shinjirō stopped and looked at Midori expectantly. "You may start first, Miss."

Midori caught the ball as she heard the door opening. She was expecting a Jounin to walk in, and had tensed a bit, only to relax when she saw that it was Kame. Kame... that girl Hiro seems so head-over-heels for. Doesn't look like he's been spending much money on her lately--maybe I should hint at him to buy her some more gifts. It's not like he doesn't have the money to spare.
After she'd spent the few seconds thinking this out with a somewhat analytical gaze on her squadmate, she extended her hand in greeting, about to speak... when the door was knocked open again, Hiro appearing nearby. He was walking towards Midori, but all of his attention was on Kame. Kame-chan, huh? I guess he's not going to beat around the bush showing his interest, at least.
Once Hiro had given Kame his exuberant greeting, he turned to Midori, who just gave him a bit of a smirk. "I wouldn't call us that dynamic, given who we have to compare ourselves to," she replied, thinking of old stories about a pair in green from thirty years ago. "That is, unless you plan to go around screaming about your Springtime of Yo--"
Once again, Midori was cut off as their sensei finally appeared... right behind her. She spun around right away, looking up at the podium-turned-teacher addressing them. Why I want to be a ninja? I don't think he'd be happy with an answer about obligation... Midori's eyes wandered out the window as she thought about a good answer for each question.
After a bit, Midori turned to look Shinjiro in the eyes. "Shinjiro-sensei, it's a pleasure to meet you," she said with a bow. "I am Ookami Midori of the Ookami clan. My hobbies include strolls through the forest and going to events like plays and art exibits. I don't have much time for those, or reading, or much else though, since I have to keep up with my training as the future head of militant affairs for my clan. My favorite drink is green tea, but I don't have a favorite food." She listed off a couple of plays and artists she enjoyed, before concluding, "As for why I want to become a ninja, there are people who will need me in the future. I have to be up to the task."

Midori extended her hand in greeting. Kame shook it. She hadn't had to shake many people's hands. It seemed so formal. Hiro walked in behind Kame and gave the both of them an ecstatic greeting. Kame was a little confused. Why would they put both Hiro and his sister on the same team? It didn't really make sense to Kame but maybe it was because they were good together. Kame was just the odd one out since she had never really been outside of the village or done anything too exciting.
It wasn't long after that the podium at the front of the class transformed. In it's place stood a jounin that Kame had never seen before. She assumed he was to be their sensei. He confirmed that theory when he introduced himself. He told them that they were to introduce themselves and give examples of things they liked and why they wanted to become a ninja. Kame had to think long and hard about those questions. No one had asked her most of them. Well, her parents had asked her why she wanted to be a ninja when she was little and begged them to put her into ninja academy. Her reasons had changed by now though. It wasn't just because it was "cool" now, though that did have a factor in it.
She had almost missed all of Midori's introduction and now had learned almost nothing about her. All she knew now was why she wanted to be a ninja. Her reason was so good. Kame took a deep breath, still unsure as to what exactly she was about to say.
"My name is Tsuki Kame from no real clan. My hobbies include helping my parents run the pet shop, playing with the animals and drawing once in a while. My favourite food would be pancakes with this syrup that my mom makes. It's really sweet and a bit thicker than normal syrup. She always knows thats what I want when I ask her if we can have pancakes. Why I want to be a ninja...? I guess because then I'm doing something useful and getting out in the world." Kame answered.
She looked over at Hiro, since it was his turn to answer the questions. He was about to lean against a bookcase. Kame noticed something that seemed to be a little bit off about the whole thing. She grabbed his shoulder before he set it off. "Careful, someone left a trick there," she said as she pointed upwards where a thin, almost unnoticable wire was attached to a box of chalk that would have fallen on Hiro's head.

Hiro cocked an eyebrow at His sister's response to his greeting about to throw back a potentially sassy and insightful reply (probably not, but we'll let him think that) when suddenly the sound of a transformation sounded behind him. He turned around, taking a step back to stand beside his sister. Hiro knew what Midori's answers would be, and his brain began to wander. He wasn't sure what to say for his answer.
Why do I want to be a shinobi? What made me join the ninja academy? Well, my duty to my clan for sure. But there's something more, what though? I'm not sure... I don't think I have an answer, the other questions are simple and easy to answer, pretty standard stuff, but nonetheless the answers should come simply by thinking of them, and they do. Hiro contemplated, as he uncomfortably switched his positioning over and over again. He was scratching his chin in deep contemplation. Why oh why had he chosen this hard path, he honestly never stopped to think about the why to this what.
Midori was done with her answers. Hiro gave her a friendly, and brotherly smile accompanied with a small thumbs up. And now it was Kame's turn to talk, he found himself enthralled listening to her, learning all these small little bit of tid bits about who she is and how she's come to be who she is. Most importantly what drives her to be a shinobi, and honestly, it was pretty simple. A cute and and surprisingly honorable reason despite its simplicity. Meanwhile Midori, it had been her duty to others, exactly what he expected from his sister. Also quite honorable despite its simplicity.
Suddenly Kame was pointing out a booby trap, in his stupor of thought, he hadn't noticed the wire he almost tripped. He blushed slightly as he thanked her for her help. "Thanks, guess I got deep in thought, but not about the first part. the answers to all of that come simple for me, what I do and what I like that is."
Hiro took a step forward, surveying the faces of his new team just beaming, this was so exciting, the first steps of being a genin. "My name is Ookami Hiro, brother to Midori and son of Giro. My hobbies include training, sparing, and exploring. I love Korean Bar B Q but I'm not a huge fan of takoyaki It's probably my least favorite food. Oooh boy, I guess I've said all that should be said though, why do I seek the life of a shinobi?
Hiro ruffled the back of his head scratching at it intensely, in an almost canine like fashion. "Well enough stalling, I chose the path of the shinobi because there wasn't any other choice! I never thought or dreamt of being anything else. The chance to help others and become stronger for my clan and loved ones, there's just no choice, I Hiro, am destined to take this path!" he finished with a smirk, his canines poking out from behind his lips. Se spoke with sincerity and clarity, satisfied with his answers.
"It's great to meet you sensei! but you can't hold out on us, what are your answers!?" Hiro exclaimed loudly and excitedly pointing a finger at Shinjiro that pointed unwaveringly.

Shinjirō narrowed his eyes pensively at Midori's response. Her hobbies are nice, but ... "There are people who will need me..."? She's doing this for duty? What a positively boring reason to become a ninja.
"Great Answer!" he exclaimed after she finished, giving her an overly emphatic Nice Guy pose.
He turned his attention towards Tsuki Kame, absorbing her response. Tch, her hobby sounds like a chore. Those pancakes sound fantastic though, mused the Sensei, drooling. Recovering a few seconds later and surreptitiously wiping off the drool with a sleeve, he noticed Kame intercept and disarm the bookshelf trap. Maybe she’s as good as the Hokage said, he reflected as Hiro spoke up.
Shinjirō couldn’t help but frown factionally at Hiro’s answer. Training and sparring, as hobbies? Ugh. He’s a shinobi because “there was no other choice?” Give me a break. Then, as Shinjirō expected, Hiro turned the tables onto the Jōnin, all but demanding that he answer his own questions.
“EEHHHH? ME?” sputtered the sensei , feigning a look of surprise, “My hobbies are … walking around town with Kitsuchi, playing fetch with Kitsuchi, staring at the clouds with Kitsuchi …”
“As for why I became a ninja, well the answer to that is simple: My Brother !” finished Shinjirō, a wide grin spreading across his face for a long moment. Just when the silence was about to be awkward, he clapped and rubbed his hands together. “Well, I guess that’s it for today. Ummm… does anyone have questions for me? Cuz if not, I have, erm, sensei things to do.”
